WALDCHENGARTEN
The Leech
7"
Waldchengarten is a danish duo from Aarhus that could be best described as “noise ambient” or “raw / harsh drone” in what they do. Their music on The Leech is very raw and filled with tiny noisy outbursts, at the same time ultra-sluggish & powerful. Low whistling feedback & pure electronic whirl-tones are omnipresent, everything seems to gradually sink to an alien center of heavy gravity like an organic entity that is slowly sucking energy while everything around is pulsating and rumbling in menacing cascades... this is dark, but its a darkness of sheer beauty. (Drone Records)
$ 9

WALL RIDERS
Document III
CD
Harsh noise collaboration between The Rita and Taskmaster (Trauma Tone)
$ 6

Dan Warburton & Reynols
I am NOT sitting in a room with Reynols
CD
Inspired by Alvin Lucier's Classic "I Am Sitting In A Room" recordings, Dan Warburton took an interview he made with Reynols and re-recorded the results of playing the recording, mixed with every other sound happening at the same time on top of itself. After more then a dozen mutations, he then mixed the results with a Live Reynols recording to create an odd mixture of raw electo-acoustics and Psych wierdness. ltd. 166 (absurd)
$ 8

WARMTH
Warmth / Medroxy Progesterone Acetate
7"
Warmth (formerly Roxanne Jean Polise) starts the side with a distant, yet disconcerting drone that builds up to an intense, nightmarish din. MPA takes a different approach. Eerie samples of a woman's voice frame layers of loops and drones with a ritual-like feel. (Phage tapes)
$ 6

ROBERT WARNER
Hope
C30
A half an hours worth of experimental audio from this US artist. A thick, and complex mixture of many different sounds, all of which have been processed, and blended together to create a wall of constantly moving, and changing sound.
$ 6

WASTE
Bete Noire
C40
Tapeworm Tapes' dude Miles Haney, along with also being the guy behind EVENINGS, is also the boy-wonder behind Waste. the common thread between both projects is this never-departing thick bass-hurl. and while it reaches a strong-point with his other projects, it crosses into a new threshold on "BÊTE NOIRE". make sure not to leave anything too fragile on your speakers while listening. (Nurse Etiquette)
$ 7

JOHN WATERMANN
Calcutta Gas Chamber
CD
Reissue of the legendary 1993 release. The concept of aurally conveying the horror of a gas chamber was realised through field recordings in an abandoned electrical power station in Brisbane in 1992. The sounds are grating and harsh, a mixture of field recordings and electronic manipulations. One can rarely pinpoint a location or action but the images the sounds conjure up are of all sorts of nefarious activites related to death by machinery. The sleeve notes take you into the horror that is the Calcutta Gas Chamber. (Cold Spring)
$12

WESTWIND
Tourmente I
2xLP
Part I of this triple release. “The concept album is consecrated to Brest's destruction during summer 44 by both German and American forces, and dedicated to the 400 civilian dead in the explosion of the Abri Sadi Carnot on the 9th September, to the victims of the Telgruc bombing and finally to the 20 000 soldiers who died for this city, whatever their nationality.“ Introspective and solemn ambient with martial undercurrents. WHERE

WHITEBASS
Depths of Field
CD
Clinton Watkins lives in some of the remotest land of this world (New Zealand, precisely). Previously known for some collaborative & split releases with ESO STEEL under the DOE moniker, here he presents us his shimmering debut for his new WHITEBASS project. The accurately named Depth Of Field is all about points of perspective, and varying degrees of perception, emergence along a vague axis & primal inner path, an aural translation of an impermanent state of flux. ltd. 100 (mystery Sea)
$17

WHITE BOSS
Guidelines at Third stone
C35
waves of metal static crumble between battling silent structures. non-sound functions at non-speed. journey to space with Lou Reed to listen to this lost radio feed of underground guerilla czech AM madness. (Nurse Etiquette)
$ 6

WHITE DOG
Holodomor
C20
White Dog (Chris Jacques) was raised in a heavy nationalist Ukrainian home. Stories and pictures of the Holodomor or Terror-Famine of the Ukraine were common during his formative years. In usual White Dog style sounds are plunged into a dark psychedelic/psychological pool of murk and echo. Side A offers “Terror” – a 10 minute excerpt of a longer piece “8 Million Dead” – a drone workout with tape manipulation of temple bell recordings. B- Side, “Famine pts. 1 & 2” exist as the first White Dog track (w/o D. Layman) to feature guitar. Holodomor presents the contemplative aspects of the White Dog sound without compromising on the jagged tone zoner harshness. (Prairie Fire)
$ 7

WHITE HETEROSEXUALS
Modern Heterosexuality
1 sided LP
What we have here are three tracks of old-style power electronics, Very minimal in places, with periods of lull interspersed with piercing explosions, static bursts, and constant weird, heavilly processed vocals. Lyrics are very stream-of-consciousness stuff, and the delivery is bang-on, incredibly jarring stuff. Completely at odds with a lot of PE acts around today who tend to go for the muscular beefed-up American-style approach, this is very much more in the old Come Org vein, aesthetically in in the musical delivery. (At war with False Noise)
$10

WHITE LEATHER
Creep Style, Ohio
C30
new jammer from the dudes who used to be behind IDOLATRIES; Dan D.L. (HAUNTED CASTLE, SNOW COVERED DEER CORPSE/MOSSY THROATS) and K.H.R. (BODY COLLECTOR, VILLA VALLEY) are now fronting this thing. dan on loop swirl, khr on synth attack. gets densely harsh & thick at sparatic moments. usually remains in sort of a straight-up oscillation storm. Simon Wickham-Smith
Two4Dancin'
CD
a double album released simultaneously on a single CD. No, I'm not joking! Damn near exploding at the seams with wonderfully resonant contradictions, it's exquisite textures are capable of blissfully enveloping daily life AND driving your neighbours completely batty. Massive Attack meets Steve Reich? A slave to an infinite, block-rockin' beat which melts into deep transparency revealing a subterranean omniverse of casiotone-mantras, silicon-chip psalms, and the mystical babblings of angels and derelict gutter-drunks. Free your ass and your mind will follow.

WILT
The black box Aesthetic
CD
A brand new full CD featuring 17 tracks totaling over 75 minutes worth of music that's hard to describe. For lack of a better term, I would classify wilt as "dark Ambient", but there's a lot more going on in his work then just that as Wilt uses such a large variety of sounds to work with. Even though the CD is made up of 17 distinct tracks, there is a nice flow and feel between them, which tie it together as a whole work, not just a bunch of separate pieces. The music draws you right in, creating a certain mood and feeling as each track unfolds it's story.
$12
Wither
CD
Brand new release on Crionic Mind from one of the most interesting sound artists working in the US today. WILT extol the invisible corners of the thirsty earth with this exaltation of decay and reclamation. Best described as Noise Ambient, "Wither" is an aural quagmire of dusky vapors and ivy draped relics, grating erosions and the thorny shadows that rise and fall across dying landscapes. Recommended.
$12
When spiders learn to fly

The Damnation Helix
CD
Hearken to the sound of black teeth grinding against the boundaries of the afterlife to send us a message of fear, as the voices of the damned cry out from beneath blankets of charred skin just beyond the threshold of a universe of pure madness. Fusing PE, sludge, dark ambience, pedal noise and guitar psychedelics to create a harsh opus of modern culture. (Annihilvs)

WINDFAHNENAMT

CD
Debut CD from this Hamberg, Germany electro-acoustic project. Recorded using looped and manipulated vinyl groves to create a warm, and hypnotic drone. Very relaxing, the music is made of several layers: very long melodic tunes, some clicks and small beats, and prominent long atonal droning, giving this album a very hypnotic and mesmerizing feeling. Even though the tracks are punctuated by small percussions and rhythmic patterns, these elements stay calm and subtle, the foreground being filled with drones or samples, field recordings with a prominent "aquatic" atmosphere. Tribal in a way, "Windfahnenamt" is a CD that sounds very organic and some tracks fit very well to the strictest possible meaning of "ambient music". (Horch / Ars Macabre)
$14

Wolf Eyes / Sickness
There is a part of me that you will never know

LP
the first ever collaboration between these two legends, Wolf Eyes and Sickness. This is not haphazard but a symbiotic collaboration bridging distant roads. This full length LP is a dark casket of scorched earth sounds, the remains of the cracks at the after shock of discovery. Reminding us of the peaks in either artists catalog There Is A Part Of Me That You Will Never Know processes the deepest sounds of these four masters in a haze of lone atmosphere and true noise. This is not not a terror shock, this is the end. (Hospital productions)
