Jason Talbot / Vertonen
7"
Talbot's side is reminiscent of a turntable needle dragged intermittently across fields of ice, broken glass, and sand, although more on the quiet side than all-out noise torment. Vertonens side is a multi-layered and multi-phased synthesizer piece; a simple source turned much denser to create a hypnotic dronish-tone. Each side also contains 5 lock grooves as well. (Crippled Intellect productions)
$ 5

TALIBAN / PARANOID TIME
Air Lice
10"
Taliban lurches about with seasick electronics. They move from stuttering wooze to an avalanche of filth with the kind of style it should take years to develop. Dudes are alright. Taliban is the duo of Miles Haney (Evenings, Tapeworm Tapes label), and Joel Rakowski (scientist). Flip the thing over, and Paranoid Time is smacking around the head and neck with a pile of static crunchers and tape. Amplified vocal vomit makes the guy sound like he needs a drink. ltd. 300 (SNSE/Tapeworm Tapes)

Telepherique vs S*core
Result of Mail-art 1992

CD
back in 1992, German telepherique & Japanese s·core were very active in the cassette-scene. telepherique had released quite a lot of cassettes on their own drhafunk-products label and s·core on its own afflict records as well as many foreign labels. they were both fond of collaborations, so it was then logical to find them working together. this result is excellent: raw & crude sounds, some smoother atmospheres, you can feel both influences in those eight untitled tracks. Terg / Mensch Schmerz Interaktion
Verdrangen

CD
First Terg destroys everything in your head with three tracks of Fast and harsh noise. Then Mensch Schmerz Interaktion infiltrates and infects with hypnotizing and brainwashing sounds. This new German project contributes three tracks which could still be named noise, although it's not at all as cut up and fast as Terg. The material is much more epic and mysterious, as it loops, descends and ascends using constant repetitions of different weird claustrophobic sounds, samples and drones. This makes the material not just brutal, but also atmospheric and a bit industrial. (Vene)

TIDAL
Golem and Man
CD
For this CD Tidal delves into the atmospheres evoked by the Yiddish legend of the Golem. Suitably ancient and solemn drones limned with ritualist undertones. The scenery is always changing, the feeling never really leaves the realm of one wandering through unfamiliar places at night, not quite threatening but not quite natural either. very similar in sound to Crawl Unit 'VS Silence' or Lustmord's earlier, noisier work. In canvas and clay medallion package, suiting the legend as the Golem was said to be made of mud and cloth.

TOY BIZARRE
kdi dctb 122 [f]
3" CD
"kdi dctb 122" was a sound work of interpreted cartography whose theme was, on one hand, the sound environment in an area of 750m around the village of La Pommerie (in the town of St Sétiers), and on second hand, the sound events related to the birth of the morning dew in the same area. The 10-channels audio system restores 10 places from the area ; it can be considered as a partial restitution [a cartography sound work] of La Pommerie in july 2001 without pretending being the truth. But "kdi dctb 122" is also and above all a musical piece made of 10 elements that can be heard alone or all together, the exhibition place becoming the listening place. Here, space occupation and spacialization were major concerns during the installation of the work. Work was made of many recordings in/on 10 "micro-places" of the area ; every element was recorded. These field recordings were later sculpted with hard & and software. The final composition was only made with those elements ; so it can be considered as "the music of the place", a microscopic exploration of space. (Taalem)

Toy Bizarre + Lethe

A multitalented instrumentalist who runs his own Pale Disks label releasing improvised music/noise CD. kdi dctb 115a/000731 is a reworking (via mail) of each artists sounds by the other. Toy.Bizarre creates a powerful and harmonious bowed drone which gently fades in, then abruptly falls to minute crackling and buzzing. Likewise, Lethe has taken toy.bizarre's sound samples and created a warehouse orchestration of rattling and grating sounds combined with a healthy backbone of wind-style drone.

TROUM
Tjukurrpa:part one: Harmonies
CD
This is the first part of a Trilogy of CD's, and the first release on the Transgreiddient Records label. Troums music has to do with dreams, and dreaming, and the sounds on this CD reflect that, drifting and flowing electronics that take you to a strange, unknown land. Comes packaged inside a round cardboard cover.
$15
Tjukurrpa Part Two:Drones
CD
This is the second part of the Tjukurrpa-trilogy, aiming to show the different sides of Troum's organic & archaic dreamscapes. This part two is dedicated to drones; presenting five highly atmospheric and droning tracks ranging from minimal to monumental sounds, from dark ambient to more ritualistic areas: these are drones to loose your rational mind in and reach boundless spheres of mind.. The music on Tjukurrpa II is made by loops based on metal-sounds, percussion & other more obscure sources, as well as mouth-organ, choirs, guitars, and effects. The aboriginal word Tjukurrpa translated as "dreamtime", should symbolize the aim to build music that creates a dreamy state of mind, music of yearning, meditation and inner movement.
$15
Troum, Tam Quam Tabula Rasa & Kallabris
Kasha Pashana

CD
Kasha Pashana means in ancient Sanscript :1) a touchstone, which is a black stone used to test the purity of gold or silver by the color of the streak produced on it by rubbing it with either metal 2) the rack or instrument of torture by which one is forced to divulge the truth 3) torture, torment, acute pains, of the pains of a disease, of those in hell after death. A great sound alchemy by three of the greatest esoteric, ambient bands. Recommended (Old Europa Cafe)

Dreaming Muzak
CD

Troum / Christian Renou
Dissolution

CD
For this CD French artist Christian Renou (ex-Brume) composed some of his most melodic and textural pieces. Subtle drones and shiny metal chimes join and spread in stretched flashes of Post-Industrial waves. After two joint tracks, (composition by Troum using sounds provided by C. Renou), the German duo Troum use a ritualistic approach to dive to the core of the strong themes they link to dissolution: life, suffering and death. All obscure and magmatic, treated guitar drones exploring the resources of sadness in their most creative qualities. (Fario)

Toshiya Tsunoda
extract from field recording archive # 3:sold vibration
CD
The sound work of Toshiya Tsunoda represents a radical rethinking of the concept of field recordings. As he explains his method: "To render the vibration of objects audible, a piezo-ceramic sensor with a weak current is used to generate pressure. The vibration transmitted inside a solid is then changed into voltage, which can be recorded". With the deceptively impersonal air of a purely scientific cataloguist, Tsunoda records minute vibrations, mostly outdoors and near to a body of water, meticulously writing down every event that occurred in the area during the time of the recording. Tsunoda’s area of concern employs the language of physics and mathematics to reveal beauty and simplicity in outdoor environments. But rather than stop at the mere content-driven documentary of most field recording work, Tsunoda’s mastery of editing and recording reveal depths of sonic detail that could never be heard otherwise.

TZESNE
Huffduff
7"
Tzesne is quite a new project from Spain. On HuffDuff's two tracks 'Enviar Ayuda Ahora' and 'La Voz Flamante' one dives deep into mysterious sounds derived solely from radio-receivers, creating a droney and eerie imaginary soundtrack to the communication between Submarines in the Second World War. 'Something' is there in the sub-ether, but it can¹t be identified. Very thick & foggy subliminal sound-waves, the time is standing still. ltd. 300 (Drone records)
