Seven tracks of electroacoustic sound work using early analog field recordings manipulated by computer. Low frequency pulses, high pitched hiss, tape manipulations and found sounds of varying timbre and intensity fall into and out of earshot, each piece is as dramatic and engaging as the last, creating a distinct feeling of isolation and apprehension. An accomplished and introspective work, revealing new details and hidden sounds with repeated listening.

the first solo recordings of Martin Bladh, who also resides in the acclaimed avantgarde group IRM and the more experimental unit Skin Area, both now widely known for their carismatic live-shows. This is a highly personal recording, which takes some firm mature steps further into physical essence and digs deep into the walls of the mothers utero with its hypnotic drones and drenching layers of organic sounds from cymbals, string instruments, accordion and bass, all treated with great care and respect. Instrumental throughout, bicephalous in the way of screeching, shuddering sounds and drowsy in opposition. There is something strangely slippery about the recordings, a frightening, obtuse atmosphere embedded in silk and soft controlled feedback.

Master Control
CD
Reissue of an obscure cassette tape by this Norway band in 1988. Master Control was meant to hurt, and it did. It still does. Now 20 years later it comes across as a work of true and deeply original vision. Even better than the first time. Obviously it takes its departure from the Iphar/Whitehouse/Broken Flag-tradition, but rapidly takes a weird turn and ends up somewhere else; at the very edge of a completely unknown territory. The unspeakable mad landscapes of HP Lovecraft seems to be one point of reference, snuffmovies by Brazilian deathsquads another. And plenty of attitude in between.

The Haunting Curse Of Skogs-Sara
CD
There is a legend saying that Skogs-Sara lived in the forest called Osterskogen, she got a virgin born child named Frans Enoch. Soon after the birth three nude gay men arrived, they had followed the bright iron sign in the sky to the small Skogs-Sara lodge. These three men gave Frans Enoch the bastard one gift each; black clogs, an orange thermal Helly Hansen sweater and a box of snuff. Frans Enoch later worked as a cheese producer but on his spare time he preached that one day there will come two men named Peter Andersson and then the city of Boxholm will forever be doomed. The citizens of Boxholm did not believe Frans Enoch, so they crucified him in the forest and let him die alone. Skogs-Sara went furious and put a curse on the citizens by letting two named Peter Andersson to be born who would terrorize the citizens for all time with a project called Bocksholm. (Wrotycz)

Memorias extranjeras
CD
one of the new UK masters of drone music, With 'Memorias extranjeras', Paul works with very festive field recordings from Valencia, Spain. We hear the smooth, complex drone sounds which are his signature along with field recordings which he uses in ways which are perhaps not 'typical' of his work. The single 41 minute piece actually sounds like two separate but related pieces, each with its own mood. This work strikes a perfect balance between darkness and light, somberness and celebration. The music will satisfy the familiar while also introducing Paul's work to an entirely new fan base with its excellent use of rhythm and other elements which are best left heard rather than described.

Drive home with a Hammer
CD
This is the first full-length CD release by Norwegian noise artist Andreas Brandal. He has been making music with various bands and projects since the late 80's and released a several 7" and LPs on famous Norwegian label Smalltown Supersound as solo artist, as well as a participant of improv-noise duo Larmoyant. "Drive Home With A Hammer" is not "just another noise record". Once you hear it, you will be unexpectedly surprised by unique sense of Andreas in manipulating with interesting close-to-recognize sounds. His skills in working with macro/micro audio-events helps him to create the powerful and impressive audio work using both vintage analogue equipment and modern computer tools. There is the smallest audio element that can indicate the way to the hidden layers and perspectives in sound. The album sounds very deep, organic and "analogue", because of hisses, brutal tape loops and "glitches" are the constant "ingredients" of Andreas output. The structure of tracks is clear and irregular at the same time, the music flows freely, but not quiet, because it is created with both composition and improvisation methods. (Quasipop)

Flesh of the Moon
CD
"Flesh of the Moon," is the fifth release, and the first "real" CD by Brutum Fulmen. For this release, Brutum Fulmen harnesses a diverse collection of sound sources-including manual typewriters, utensils, scrap metal, and records that have been airmailed without covers across the Atlantic-to create a sonically rich yet subtle release. The solo recording project of Jeff Wrench, Brutum Fulmen is an extension of his fascination with studying the relationships between sounds-how they interact, how they can be combined to produce new sounds, their affect when taken out of context, the result of electronic processing on them. This interest, plus an intuitive and constantly refining sense of composition, is what helps Brutum Fulmen accomplish what only a handful of experimental audio projects can: present audio (natural, mechanical, electronic, and combinations thereof) in ways that make listeners think differently about sound. Highly recommended.

Over a year in the making, and well worth the wait. BT.HN. (LA BETE HUMAINE) brings you to a place where profane ritual meets barbaric violence! domineering waves of crushing bass and crackling electronics bury slithering spoken rites, and crest in thundering commands. a steady, measured rumble peppered with heavily effected vocals breaks into volatile metal abuse. vocals shift from paced incantation to frantic possession! 1 sided LP with silk-screened b-side (Rundownsun)

Vitiated
LP
1st full-length LP of BT.HN. formed by Sam McKinlay (The Rita) from Vancouver. This rituals feature Josh Rose from Sick Buildings, and is concerned by French realism around 'La Bete Humaine' by Emile Zola / Jean Renoir. Throbbing electronics are crawling on stratum waves of harshness with bursts of heavily blunt cracks and crags, cruel atomosphere dominate over the fear. Burnish core is standing on the borderline without any determent, it is the vitiated faith and also the catharsis of maximum intension. (Dogma Chase)

The movement and machinery within the walls of a New York hotel room are throbbing and grinding just like the burning knees and ripped stockings on the floors and bed. Opportunistic live recording of a New York Ramada hotel room with various rigged mics and electronics. A meditation over the living and breathing entity of the room itself via it's mechanized measures for cold, heat, and air. An atmospheric and driving piece that reflects airport hookers, infidelity, swinging, and the constant machinery that drives the fuck spaces and our ligaments themselves. (Lake Shark Harsh Noise/Rundownsun)

Valastro

Sam McKinlay (The Rita) and Josh Rose (Sick Buildings) dissect their sound thoroughly on 'Valastro', the first side a live recording featuring blunt dynamic shifts, heavy electronics/vocal attack and crisp distortion hits slicing into extended sampled dialogue. The second side loses the exaggerated movements but ups the introspective intensity, turgid distortions intertwining to seethe into overboil. Packaged in 4"x4" vinyl cases with a swarm of inserts. Edition of 100 copies. (Cipher Productions)
